House on fire Oakland threatens nearby Houses

A blaze that surfaced at a house in Oakland on Wednesday morning was threatening neighboring residences and prompting evacuations as firefighters raced to bring the fire under control, officials said. The blaze began in the attic of the house and firefighters were pulling down ceilings to “have the upper hand,” officials said. A house on 58th Street behind the residence where the fire began was being jeopardized by fires and residents that there have been evacuated, officials said.
