The Obamas Locate Post-White House Home

After a little more than just four weeks, the former residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue have found a new place to call home. That’s correct; Barack and Michelle Obama have Purchased a house. After they vacated the White House, the Obamas moved into a rental house at the posh Kalorama area of Washington, D.C.. They fell so in love with their rental that they paid $8.1 million to buy it. After all, their daughter Sasha has two more years at high school in the prestigious Sidwell Friends School, so they will be staying in the region. It makes sense for them to buy rather than rent.

But, it appears that the Obamas might have overpaid because of their nine bedroom , eight and a half bathroom mansion. Real estate site quotes the worth of the home at $6.2 million. Nevertheless, when you’re at a hot property market, homes frequently go for considerably greater than their worth. The Kalorama area is a hot area where property values have been soaring. Many high profile families have moved into that region in recent months, such as Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and Jeff Bezos, who paid $23 million to the greatest home in DC at January. That land is a former memorial.

Barack, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and Bo’s new house is 8,200 square feet. It got a safety upgrade fall in preparation to the former family. The property is blocked to public access with real obstacles which are viewed over 24/7 by Secret Service agents.

The Obamas purchased the home out of Joe Lockhart, President Clinton’s one time press secretary. The political strategist is appointed executive vice president of communications to the NFL, which necessitated him to move to New York. Lockhart purchased the home from May 2014 for about5.295 million.
